Successful Haas VMC Spindle Repair Completed at Spindle Systems (UK) Ltd

At Spindle Systems (UK) Ltd, we’ve just completed a full repair on a Haas VMC spindle that had suffered a serious failure after seizing up.

On inspection, both the front and rear bearing seats of the spindle housing were found to be damaged, with the outer races having spun. To achieve the precision required, we bushed and ground both bearing seats back to specification.

The BT40 tool interface was also showing signs of wear, so it was reground to ISO tolerance, ensuring the spindle could deliver the accuracy demanded in high-performance machining.

With the housing and taper re-ground, the spindle was rebuilt using new precision bearings. It then underwent a complete run-in and dynamic balancing process to guarantee smooth operation at speed.

Finally, the drawbar system was tested and confirmed to achieve the OEM-specified kN pull force, giving full assurance of clamping strength and reliability.

This successful rebuild means the customer’s Haas VMC is back in production, with a spindle that’s as good as new – ready to deliver precision, power, and reliability.
